The representatives of the key French media, including Le Figaro or Attitude Luxe, a leading web portal devoted to luxury goods, visited Warsaw on 12th and 13th December at the invitation of Kulczyk Silverstein Properties, the investor of the luxury commercial and office complex ETHOS located at the capital city’s Three Crosses Square. KSP organized the press trip in response to a great interest of the media in Warsaw and Polish luxury goods market, which has experienced a dynamic growth in the recent years and is facing an optimistic outlook as regards its future development.

Earlier, since Q3 2015, KSP has also organized a series of European debates in Paris, London, and Milan with the aim of educating brands and the media about the potential of Warsaw as a new, luxury destination.

The journalists started their stay in Warsaw with a walk around the Old Town and the downtown area, which highlighted, among others, the relationship between Warsaw and Chopin as well as the rich history of Polish‑French cultural and economic relations. The media representatives were also shown the exclusive boutiques by French brands at Moliera Street, near Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera. Next, the guests were offered an opportunity to meet at the Blikle cakery at Nowy Świat Street with professor Andrzej Blikle and learn about the history of the best‑known Warsaw‑based confectionery brand with long traditions dating back to 1869. Afterwards, the Warsaw luxury trail led the journalists to Three Crosses Square, the beating heart of Warsaw, where they saw, inter alia, the Warsaw Stock Exchange building and the Ferrari showroom.

KSP also provided the French journalists with an opportunity to make acquaintance with young Polish brands taking international markets by storm – thus, they visited the boutiques of Ania Kuczyńska, a renowned fashion designer, and Mokobelle, a trendy jewelry brand, at Mokotowska Street, the place to be for blooming Polish design, as well as Just Paul and Mo61. The tour could not be complete without a stop at the studio of one of the best‑known fashion designers, Maciej Zień.

The journalists arrived at the KSP offices, where they learned the details of the ETHOS project and examined a carefully crafted mock‑up of the downtown area presenting the revitalized Three Crosses Square along with the completed ETHOS building.

The events of the Monday evening also included going up to floors 17 and 42 of the Cosmopolitan apartment tower at Grzybowski Square, from where the media representatives could admire the capital city’s skyline shimmering with the glow of Christmas lights. The first day was topped off with a dinner in the company of the Vice President of Warsaw Michał Olszewski as well as entrepreneurs and designers, including Boris Kudlička.

Tuesday’s exploration of Warsaw’s highlights began with a meeting with President Hanna Gronkiewicz‑Waltz, who reviewed the key data regarding Warsaw as a dynamically developing European capital city. The greatest surprise consisted in a meeting with the legendary leader of the Solidarity trade union and the first president of the liberated Republic of Poland, Lech Wałęsa.

Next, there was a tour around the 2015 European Museum of the Year – Museum of the History of Polish Jews. The press trip to Warsaw ended with the presentation of the most recent report “Luxury goods market in Poland 2016” prepared and published by KPMG.

The visit will result in the publication of articles about an inspiring, dynamic Warsaw, which will be featured in French journals and magazines in the upcoming weeks.
